What is Deseret Industries? |
Deseret Industries is a thrift store and donation center founded and run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. People can get good deals and cheap prices for the items in good condition that have been donated there. The items that do not sell are given away to poor people in need of things such as shoes and clothes that they cannot afford. Your donations help fund the training of thousands of people, sell items at a low cost to the community, provide humanitarian assistance worldwide, and provide volunteer opportunities for others. They can accept donations of antiques, baskets, bedding, blankets, books, clothing, computers, cookware, drapes, DVDs, games, glassware, home furnishings, jewelry, kitchen goods, knickknacks, pictures, plates, radios, seasonal decorations, shoes, small appliances, sports equipment, flat Screen TVs, tools, towels, and toys. They cannot accept food, drugs, large appliances, or weapons. Visit their website through the link below for more information on how you can make a difference by donating and/or volunteering.

What did I do there? To add on to donating the ten dollars to Tabitha's Way, I created fliers and passed them out to the houses in my neighborhood. The fliers asked if anyone had anything they were planning to donate anywhere. I collected all their donations and brought it all in one big load.
Flier I usedCollection for Deseret Industries
I’m Nathan Rummler, and I was assigned a project to make a difference in the community with ten dollars. I decided to do a collection for Deseret Industries, where they take the donations and use them to improve other people’s lives. But since I don’t have enough stuff in my house to donate, I was wondering if you had any items that you think would be fit to donate to Deseret Industries. Anything other than food will work. I will come pick it up, so you don’t have to go anywhere. If your curious about Deseret Industries, visit their website for more information. If you are interested, please call 720-271-2277. We cannot accept donations after Saturday, February 16th Thank You! |
